Since 1952, John Carroll Weekend has traveled to a different city each year, gathering the local Georgetown community and alumni, students, faculty, parents, family members and friends from around the globe to celebrate the best of Georgetown.  The weekend of educational, social, and cultural events offers participants the chance to engage with one another and with Georgetown’s outstanding faculty and university leaders, and to learn more about the host city.

After a fun-filled weekend in San Francisco, we can’t wait for the first-ever John Carroll Weekend in the Emerald Isle. The Georgetown community will come together from April 18-21, 2024, for a spirited weekend of cultural tours, intellectual programming, and cherished social events.

Alumni, university leaders, renowned faculty, and friends of the university will spend four days together experiencing Dublin’s diverse arts and music scene, compelling history, and world-famous scenery. On the final evening of John Carroll Weekend Dublin, we will recognize the 2024 John Carroll and Patrick Healy awardees.

Join us from April 18-21, 2024, to celebrate alumni and friends of the university who are doing incredible work, and to experience “The Land of Saints and Scholars” with your extended Georgetown family.

During John Carroll Weekend, alumni, faculty, students, staff, family members, and friends of Georgetown travel annually to a different city to celebrate the university and the leaders it creates. The weekend is packed with social, cultural, and intellectual events that provide participants with opportunities to engage with one another and with Georgetown’s outstanding faculty and university leaders. John Carroll Weekend includes tours and excursions, lectures from industry experts, and receptions that offer an exclusive and exciting experience of the host city or locale.
