National Coming Out Week
is a time for LGBTQ and
allies to celebrate their
identities in healthy, visible
and active ways with the hope to
encourage others to do the same.

Gender Liberation Week
focuses on breaking down
gender constructions and what it
means to be transgender and what
defines sex, gender, gender
expression, gender identity and
sexual orientation. |

Pride Week
is the time
of year we celebrate
accomplishments in the LGBTQ
community and examine what it
means to transcend tolerance and
truly affirm the pride of one's
identity and self.

Lavender Graduation
celebrates graduating LGBTQ
students and allies and honors
their achievements and
contributions to the university
community. |

Educating the Whole Person
is reflected in our
expanding programming. The
Center leads visual art,
performing art, spoken word and
community service projects to
supplement holistic personal
growth outside of the classroom. |

Discussion Groups
include OUTspoken and Getting
Bi. These are lead by
trained peer facilitators and
meet weekly providing a
comfortable, open, and
confidential space for current
undergraduate students. |

GU Pride is the undergraduate
student organization that serves
as a voice for LGBTQ students
and their straight allies,
provides advocacy, and builds
safe spaces and community for a
more equitable and visible
presence for LGBTQ students at
Georgetown.

Graduate, GU GradPride
Organized through the Main
Campus Graduate Student
Organization, GradPride is open
to all graduate students at
Georgetown University. GradPride
provides an outlet for members
to meet new friends and
socialize, promotes
understanding of LGBTQ issues on
campus and in our community, and
advocates for issues of
importance to the graduate LGBTQ
community.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance
serves members of the Georgetown
MBA Program who identify as
LGBTQ, as well as those who
support this community. The
mission of GALA is to foster a
supportive environment for
professional development,
provide a forum for the
discussion of business issues
related to sexual orientation,
and to facilitate social
interaction and networking among
students, alumni, and
professionals. |

Graduate, Public Policy
Institute
P-POUT is the GPPI LGBT policy
issues group whose vision is to
provide a visible and public
forum within the student body
for discussion of LGBT issues.
This includes both national and
local policy issues, as well as
issues facing LGBT individuals
working in policy-focused
careers. The group focuses
specifically on education,
networking, outreach, and
awareness. |
