Summer Fellows

We are pleased to announce that the LGBTQ Resource Center, through a generous alum donor, is sponsoring two students for a full time summer internship dedicated to serving the LGBTQ Community. We are proud of our students, Arturo Gallego Solis and Sierra Campbell who will be interning for LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens) and Advocates for Youth this summer. We hope more of you will take advantage of this opportunity next summer! (The Summer Fellows Program is in partnership with the Georgetown Scholarship Program and GUSA.)

Summer Fellows 2017

Founded in 2008, the Georgetown Summer Fellows Program offers undergraduates with an opportunity to enhance their Georgetown experience by providing housing accommodations for 10 weeks while students work an unpaid summer internship in the DC area. In addition, the program sponsors activities throughout the summer, including networking opportunities with alumni, off-campus social events, service opportunities and professional development seminars. Our ideal candidate would look to give back to the Georgetown community and help ensure a similar road to success for future Fellows.

This year, nine fellows, working general unpaid internships in the DC area, will be selected to participate in the program. Students do not need to have finalized internship plans in order to be considered. Please consider applying if you have a few strong options. Housing is provided on campus between May 28th — August 12th (note dates are tentative). Students are expected to participate in the program for the full 10 weeks. The program also provides a stipend to each fellow.

The selection committee will give strong consideration to students with demonstrated high-financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Services.

We encourage all interested students to check back during the Spring 2018 semester and apply for Summer Fellows 2018.

The program is cosponsored by the Georgetown Scholarship Program, the Georgetown University Student Association, the LGBTQ Resource Center and the Office of Student Financial Services.
