Peer Mentorship

Passages

We are excited to announce Passages as a new student-led mentorship initiative for LGBTQ students at Georgetown. The program brings together a pair of senior/junior Hoyas with small groups of first-year, sophomore, and transfer students.

Mentors and mentees will explore what it means to navigate life on the Hilltop as a LGBTQ Hoya, in and out the classroom, in residential life, and in clubs and organizations. It is our hope that the space will be generative for discussion around internships on and off campus and work, by developing skill sets to enhance dialogue and healthy living; and to foster inclusive and supportive social spaces on campus that center social and racial justice in queer worlds; and to offer a safe space to explore what it means to be LGBTQ in the world: families, friends, relationships. Additionally, mentees will learn the history of LGBTQ activism on campus, including the Out for Change campaign which founded the LGBTQ Resource Center.
